Bulgaria's 10-mo Budget Surplus Rises 52.5% Y/Y to 1.821 Bln Euro - Table
SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 3 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria ended October with a 3.551 billion levs ($2.664 billion/1.821 billion euro) consolidated budget surplus, 52.5% higher than a year earlier, the Finance Ministry said on Monday.
Following are preliminary figures for revenue and spending in October under the country's 2007 budget (in millions of levs):

Bulgaria will aim for a budget surplus of over 3.0% of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2007 and 2008. The country's prudent fiscal policy is aimed at curbing the widening current account gap.
The country’s current account deficit, which rose to 13.8% of the projected GDP through September from 8.4% a year earlier, is expected to swell to around 20% of GDP this year from 15.7% in 2006.
The government has projected that the country's GDP will grow by a real 6.4% in 2007 and 2008 each. Bulgaria's GDP rose by 6.1% in 2006, to 49.1 billion levs.
