Ако ги разбирам правилно, искат да кажат, че няма да интервенират, ама това надали някой го вярва.
Иначе пазара щеше ли да е като застопорен на 117, не знам?
Аз също сложих лимит на usd/yen, реших да съм скромен и чакам 117.66

The greenback drifted lower against the majors in Wednesday trading as lingering concerns over a possible war over Iraq weighed on the currency. In the latest geopolitical developments, Chief UN weapons inspector Hans Blix said that evidence of Iraq"s full compliance remains to be seen, despite indication of increased cooperation. Yet, he also said that inspectors needed several more months to finish their job. He will be reporting to the Security Council later in the week, and if he maintains the stance that Iraq persists in dawdling, support for the new resolution authorizing military action may be boosted. Another key element in whether the pro-war camp will be able to garner enough support will depend on Saddam Hussein"s decision to destroy his missiles by March 1st, as ordered by Blix. In Hussein"s interview tonight at 9:00 PM EST, he adamantly denies the missiles are in violation of UN mandates and expresses his refusal to destroy them.
In other news, US officials reported earlier that North Korea has reactivated its nuclear reactor within the past 24 hours. Yet there is no sign of N. Korea restarting its nuclear fuel reprocessing facility. The Bush administration has responded that each step that brings N. Korea closer to nuclear capability further isolates it. Recall that earlier in the week a missile had been fired into the Sea of Japan, triggering security concerns throughout the region. It is also worth noting that Washington has taken a diplomatic step towards the communist state by resuming shipments of food. The US had originally ceased food aid to North Korea after it had admitted to pursuing a nuclear weapons program.
Dollar/yen hovered near its multi-month lows as speculation of covert intervention kept the pair supported above 117. The current range reflects those of Japan"s previous stealth intervention, thus increasing wariness that the BoJ may be selling yen to smooth its recent volatility. Although Japan MoF"s Zembei Mizoguchi declined to comment on whether there was intervention on Tuesday, he did reiterate the ministry"s stance, deeming recent gains to be rapid and inappropriate.
USDJPY is steady at 117.15. Resistance is eyed at 117.60, followed by 117.80 - which marks trendline resistance from 115.50 (July 16th) through 117.39 (Jan 17th) and 118. Further gains will encounter subsequent ceilings at 118.20, 118.50-60 and 119. On the downside, support is eyed at 117. A breach below will target 116.60 and 116.30.
January retail sales declined less than expected at 1.9% from a year earlier, compared to the 4.2% decline a month earlier. Data from Japan for the remainder of the week will see January personal consumption, seen declining by 2.4%, January core CPI at minus 0.6%, and January unemployment, expected to remain near post-war highs at 5.5%.
The Kyodo News reports that Japan has communicated to the US that it does not intend on financing a war with Iraq. According to a senior LDP lawmaker, Secretary General of the LDP Yamasaki told Washington that in addition to not bearing the expenses of the war, there is also not intention of supporting postwar rebuilding of Iraq. Japan had contributed $13 billion to the 1991 war with Iraq.
The Aussie advanced against the greenback near its multi-year highs and remains steady at 0.6070. Resistance is eyed at 0.6080 -- which marks the 38.2% retracement of the pair"s decline from 0.8214 (Dec 6, 1996) to 0.4773 (April 6, 2001 and 0.61 -- trendline resistance from 0.5319 (May 21, 02) through 0.5796 (June 24, 02). Interim support is seen at 0.6030, backed by 0.60 and 0.5950. Subsequent floors eyed at 0.5930 - its 20-day moving average, 0.59 and 0.5850 - trendline support from the Aug 28th high (0.5547) through the Nov 8th high (0.5669).
