Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday that a NATO fighter flew near an Air Serbia flight to Moscow.
He said that the incident reflects the growing pressure on Serbia over its stand on Russia and the war in Ukraine.
“Russian air traffic control asked our pilot to visually identify the fighter, probably a Eurofighter or F-15, flying just a kilometer below our plane near the border of Latvia,” he said.
The Serbian President said that official Belgrade will ask both Russia and NATO for information about the fighter aircraft to learn “who endangered the civilian flight or whether it was just a coincidence”.
