US Bond Yields Dive Along With Stock Market] San Francisco, Nov.
2nd: USD/JPY remains heavy at 106.14 with the fall in US stocks and bond yields
taking their toll. The DJIA is down 16 pts into the close at 10,038. US bond
yields are at their lows for the day at 4.06% and down from 4.10%, and are also
serving as a USD negative.
As for the bond scare, reports now say that police have a man on the ground at
the Time/CNN building in NYC on Sixth Avenue. This is only adding to the market
jitters. USD/JPY bids remain at 106.00.
Of note are the comments on the Drudge website noting a caveat from the early
poll results, that similar early polls in 2000 did not accurately reflect the

Following Stocks; Markets Very Thin] Boston, November 2: Markets
thinned considerably as the afternoon wore on, and are now very illiquid.
Dealers note offers on rallies staggered up from the 1.2740 level through
1.2760. Stops mix in above that level. Kerry and Bush have flip-flopped in the
tradesports.com market in the last hour after the first exit polls hit the

USD/JPY: BOJ"s Fukui Still Paving The Way For Higher Rates] San
Francisco, Nov. 2nd: While BOJ"s Fukui has no intention of raising rates now, he
sure is paving the way for a move to higher rates in 2005. The excessive
domestic holdings of JGBs and the high Japanese debt levels will make this a
delicate task so that the BOJ does not lose control of the bond market in Japan
and that rates do not sky-rocket.
Earlier today he stated that the he needs to spend time ending the ultra-easy
policy. In addition, Fukui is quoted in the Mainichi Shimbun noting that a rise
in consumer prices, most likely in the latter half of 2005, will lead to the
cancellation of the quantitative easy monetary policy. JGB yields have been
gradually rising in the last couple of sessions and a positive GDP result on
Nov. 12th, will put further upward pressure on rates. This is expected to help
support JPY in the medium term, regardless of the US election outcome. USD/JPY
trades at 106.13 with bids still ahead of 106.00 with Japanese investors among

Re-testing NY Highs On Early Election Speculation] San
Francisco, Nov. 2nd: The reports that exit polls have Kerry in an early lead
have weighed on US stock markets with the DJIA erasing all the morning gains and
now turning negative. The DJIA is now down 10 pts. This has seen the USD suffer
across the board with NZD bolstered as a result. NZD/USD is at 0.6855/60, and
re-testing the NY highs. Offers remain at 0.6870/80 that should stall gains with
more selling interest tipped near 0.6900/10 but with stops above.
Gold has managed to rise back above $420, also providing a lift for the dollar
