"Out of the eight public corporations in the world whose market capitalization exceeds $10 billion and whose shares trade at more than 15 times earnings, Juniper Networks has the absolute worst gross margins.
"The others are all around 90%. But Juniper sells big, hard-to-make routers. It is, then, mostly a manufacturing company. And its gross margins are comparatively normal: 69%.
"Like most revered high-tech stocks, Juniper"s business doesn"t appear to benefit shareholders in any way. On a cumulative basis, the company"s efforts since its founding in 1998 add up to a loss of $13 million dollars. Of course, this GAAP accounting doesn"t include Juniper"s biggest expense: stock options. Juniper"s management thoughtfully passes this cost along to shareholders directly.
"This, of course, is de rigueur for tech companies. But Juniper"s board of directors threw gas onto the fire by agreeing to re-price all of the outstanding employee stock options, near the bottom of the market in tech shares. Today Juniper has 75 million stock options outstanding with an average strike price of $10.71. With the stock doing so well lately, these outstanding, off-balance sheet obligations provide investors with a fascinating quandary.
"At current share prices, Juniper"s employees" options have an intrinsic value of $1.296 billion dollars. Meanwhile, Juniper"s total shareholder equity only equals $1.5 billion. Thus, at current prices, Juniper"s outstanding option grants to its employees are worth ~ 80% of its equity.

This “wealth-effect” that has Americans feeling good, borrowing and spending is fundamentally uprooting the foundation of all real progress and growth. The proof lies in the unprecedented level of bankruptcies in this country: 1.66 million in the year to 30 September, 2003, according to the American Bankruptcy Institute.
If the recession ended a couple of years ago, how come so many folks are going bankrupt?
Especially given that Alan Greenspan’s tenure at the Fed has resulted in an absolutely unprecedented 45% increase in the global supply of dollars.
The so-called recovery began two years ago. Yet the number of jobs is 1% below where it stood during the official recession. According to Stephen Roach, we should be up 6% at this stage of the game.

Любимата методика на женския пол. Което съвсем не значи, че женският пол има монопол върху тази методика. Същността на тази методика е достатъчно проста: да заинтересува младия човек, да бъде държан при нея. За какви цели се държи момчето при себе си – не е важно. Методиката се използва по следния начин: отначало БЛИЗКО. Това могат да бъдат както намеци за легло, така и за флирт, непреминаващ рамките на приличието. С това се създава влечение у мъжа към жената, своеобразна привързаност. Едва мъжът започва да си мисли, че е спечелил тази жена, започва ДАЛЕЧ. Методиката на използване на далеч е много различна, обикновено това е или играта “Трябва да си помисля”, или е част от играта “Динамо”. В последният случай може да се изиграе възмущение, преминаващо в “праведен гняв”. Възможни са и други варианти. С това мъжът е отдалечен от жената. Ако жената е заинтересувана от мъжа (а тези игри обикновено се играят само с необходимите хора), то след известно време следва нов етап БЛИЗО. Обикновено на втория етап БЛИЗО от мъжа искат да изпълни някаква незначителна или значителна услуга. Същността на тази методика е проста: да се държи около себе си полезния човек, без да му се дава нищо, освен аванси и потдиквайки неговото въображение към самозалъгвания.
